Following on from my last post, sharing lots of lovely Fulwood dresses, there have also been lots of fabulous projects from my new book Beginner’s Guide to Sewing With Knitted Fabrics popping up, even though it’s only been out 7 weeks!!
Here’s Lizzie at MIY Workshop in a gorgeous t-shirt version of the Longshaw dress made at her Friday morning sewing classes with me.
A full length Kinder Cardigan by Amy on Instagram that looks just perfect in this Faberwood fabric.
Anne’s mid length Kinder Cardi looks fabulous in this Higgs & Higgs fabric.
This slouchwear (great term stolen from Aimee aka Wrong Doll) combo of Peak T-shirt and Monsal Lounge Pants by Sophia is perfect. I feel more relaxed just looking at it!!
Another full length Kinder Cardigan and another project completed in class by Lizzie with gorgeously cosy fabric from Dragonfly Fabrics.
Another one finished in class – a summery cropped Peak T-shirt by Angel.
When Diane sent me photos of this hacked version of the Peak T-shirt dress she’d made I smiled at the simple genius of it and decided there and then to make my own! Diane simply used the full length dress version of the pattern, but then flared out the hem to the full width of the fabric to get that fabulous drape at the sides.
Fellow Sheffield lass Kate made this minty Peak T-shirt. It’s just perfect as she’s now baking in Sydney Australia and not shivering in Sheffield! She also wrote a very entertaining review of the book and pattern over on her blog. Entertaining in how she’s managed to link dressmaking, her youth and minty sweets all in one blog post!! (The trailer she’s found for said sweets is particularly of its time…..)
So, inspired by all your makes and identifying a gap in my wardrobe for a mid length Kinder Cardigan, here’s my most recent contribution….
Super snuggly in this unusual textured jersey from Higgs & Higgs.
I hope that’s given you some food for thought, it’s certainly helped grow my to-sew list…..!
I’m expecting more stock of the book this week, so if you’re now inspired and raring to get sewing all the knits, you can pre-order a signed copy here and it will be in your mitts very soon.
