Taking A Break

I know, shocking isn’t it?! I’m heading north again for some much needed soul nourishing, space and wilderness. I’ll be around a bit online but ignoring all but essential emails. Any orders in my shop for physical products placed from now will be shipped when I’m back. (Those that came through today will go out tomorrow or Friday, thank you.)

Hi Wendy, Just got your ‘Beginners Guide to Dressmaking” Book, and cracked on with the Shift Dress… Bit short of fabric ( remnant of stretch poplin from Stone Fabrics in Devon) so didn’t even try to pattern match .. but really pleased with your zipper instructions.

Only problem was that while I was overlocking seams ( on my LIDL / Singer Overlocker), the vibrations caused my Janome machine beside me on the table to leap to the floor. So now I have a broken machine! But I love the book, and the pattern, and in fact at the lunch party I wore it to today I got many compliments and a neighbour even asked me for the pattern!

Thank you.. the zipped jacket next?.. (when I have a new machine haha)

I’ve got your knits book too, so look forward to making your funky ‘Longshaw’ skirt. ( perhaps on the overlocker)

    Thanks for the great books!

    • So glad you’re enjoying my books Moira, but eek, sorry to hear about your lemming-like overlocker!! Hope you enjoy making the zipped jacket and Longshaw skirt (without any leaping machines hopefully….!!).
