Here’s a full list of all my Sheffield based sewing classes up to May.

ONGOING WEEKLY sewing CLASSES:

Monday evenings 6.45-8.45pm

Based at The Venue community centre in Stocksbridge, north Sheffield with easy transport links by car and plenty of free parking. £90 for 4 classes. Open to all levels of ability. Make whatever you like, absolute beginners always welcome! Full details and booking info here.

Friday daytime 11am-1pm

ONE DAY SEWING WORKSHOPS:

Wednesday 22nd January 6-8.30pm – How To Use A Sewing Machine Workshop £30

Got a sewing machine hiding in a cupboard and no idea how to use it?! Got a new all singing all dancing sewing machine for Christmas and scared to get it out of the box? Want to get back into sewing after a long break and need a bit of a confidence boost? A focussed class to find your way around your sewing machine including all the basics and some good habits to get into. Sunday 9th February 10am-4pm – Kinder Cardigan Workshop £57 / £70

Come and make a stylish yet cosy Kinder Cardigan from my book Beginner’s Guide to Sewing With Knitted Fabrics and learn my tips for sewing knitted fabrics on a regular sewing machine. Based at Sew in the City on Abbeydale Road to the south of Sheffield. Sunday 15th March 10am-2.30pm – Derwent Trousers Workshop £37 / £50

The most flattering and comfortable trousers ever! Join me to make your own pair of the Derwent trousers from my book Beginner’s Guide to Sewing With Knitted Fabrics and learn how to sew knitted fabrics and elastic on a regular sewing machine. Based at Sew in the City on Abbeydale Road to the south of Sheffield. Sunday 10th May 10am-2.30pm – Make Your Own T-shirt £54.49

Come and make a t-shirt from my first book The Beginner’s Guide to Dressmaking and learn the basics of sewing knitted fabrics on your regular sewing machine. This class is ideal for beginners and more experienced dressmakers nervous of sewing with knitted fabrics. DRESSMAKING COURSES:

Sunday 29th March & Sunday 5th April 12-5pm – Dressmaking Skills Course £125

A popular course aimed at beginners wanting to learn all the basic skills for making clothes or at those who have some sewing experience but need help with some basic techniques. We’ll cover everything from seam and hem finishes to inserting a zip. £125 for both days. Based at Sew in the City on Abbeydale Road to the south of Sheffield.
