The blog tour for my new book Sewing Basics for Every Body started a couple of weeks ago. It’s been organised by my lovely publishers Cico Books and all the fabrics have been generously provided by George and his amazing team at Fabworks.
Unlike previous years where the blog tour happened at break neck speed over the space of a week, this time we’re spreading out the love to last a bit longer!! This time it’s one a week. I think this gives everyone more time to really appreciate the amount of love, time, effort and skill the bloggers have put into their projects.
I’d like to say a huge huge thank you to all those bloggers: Mercedes, Fiona, Zoe, Portia, Ben and Elisalex. Committing to a project like this is a big investment of time and I appreciate that now more than ever. Big love to you all.
So, what have you missed so far?!
Kicking off the whole tour was the wonderful Mercedes, who you might recognise from the last series of the Great British Sewing Bee. I know Mercedes from my time in Brighton and I have to tell you, she is genuinely as lovely as she came across on screen.
She chose to make not just one but two garments:
I bet you’ll never guess which pattern in the book she used to make them either!
Head over to Mercedes’ blog to find out more.
Next up was this beauty from Fiona:
I love everything about this make and I think it looks fabulous on Fiona both belted (as above) and loose (as below).
Head over to Fiona’s blog to read her experience of sewing from a book, how she added that extra little touch to customise her boiler suit and if you’ve ever struggled with sewing shirt sleeve plackets, see what she thinks of my method in the book.
If these two are anything to go by, I can’t wait to see what the other bloggers come up with, it’s Zoe’s turn tomorrow.
I still have a few signed copies of the book here and am making trips to the post office once a week to send out orders.
Keep safe and keep sewing!!
