Sewing Basics for Every Body Blog Tour – Weeks 5 & 6

Well what a way to finish the Sewing Basics for Every Body blog tour…..

Week 5 was the turn of Ben Moore who you also (along with Mercedes on week 1) might recognise from series 5 (the last one) of the Great British Sewing Bee.

Predictably Ben not only made a fantastic Kim Jumpsuit, but he also created the most incredible images despite our locked down world!!

Head over to Ben’s Instagram feed to read what he thought about the book and a pretty awesome tip for tracing the pattern pieces you need from the pull-out pattern sheets included with the book…..

The final contributor for week 6, was Elisalex of By Hand London and well, what can I say!!

I always knew that Elisalex’s style was a lot more feminine and pretty than mine, so I was intrigued to see how she would interpret her make and I was not disappointed, it’s genius!!  A Rowan shirt dress with gathered skirt.  When I saw it I slapped my head and wondered why on earth I’d never thought of that!!  Needless to say one of these is now on my “to-sew” list.

Read Elisalex’s full review of my book on the By Hand London Instagram feed and find more gorgeous pics over on Elisalex’s own Instagram feed.

If you’ve been inspired to make something from the book, be sure to share your makes on social media using the #sewingbasicsforeverybody and tag me in, I’m @thatwendyward on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest and you can find me on Facebook here and here.

If you would like a signed copy of the book, I have a few copies available in my shop here.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the blog tour: Mercedes, Fiona, Portia, Zoe, Ben and Elisalex and to George and his fabulous team at Fabworks for so generously providing all the fabrics and last but not least to Yvonne at my publishers Cico for organising it all.  I never underestimate or take for granted the sheer amount of time and effort that people are willing to invest in these events and am forever grateful, it wouldn’t have happened without you guys!!
