Follow Me On
- Not sewing related, just a perfect Sunday. A sunny walk round Underbank Reservoir followed by good food and drinks with good friends @cutleryworks ❤🌳🍻Another super day @sew_in_the_city teaching the Peak T-Shirt from my book Beginner's Guide to Sewing With Knitted Fabrics. 👕 1 - Sara in a long sleeved drsss version with scooped neck from the Winnats Tank (yes they're interchangeable 👍) 👕 2 - Judy in a long sleeved dress version with cuffs in the most fabulous leopard print jersey from @stoffstil 🐆 👕 3 - Caroline in a short sleeved dress version. 👏👏 Well done everyone!!I spent half an hour in this soulless waiting room today waiting for my dad's inquest. These empty bookshelves, empty pin board and empty walls just emphasised the gaping empty hole left in my life. It was a horrible day and horrible weather. Here's hoping it's the end of horrible things this horrible year because honestly I've had enough of them. Maybe one day when I'm feeling more myself I'll draw these strange scenes or turn them into collages. But for now I'm content with the pictures, I somehow wanted to visually document the day as a reminder to my future self that no matter what challenges the future throws at me, I made it through this one which has been the worst of my life so far.Gorgeous repost from @diannebowles ⚫⚫⚫ Love my new #therutlandcollection wristwarmers from @thatwendyward Only took about an hour to make! Perfect for gifting too. 💙

The weather’s finally turned into winter in the UK, so it’s time to think about warm sewing. Winter dressmaking projects can often be long and complicated, so here’s the antidote – the Parkwood Cowl.
Takes just 1m of fabric and can be made all in one fabric, reversible or with contrast panels.
There’s just one pattern piece with all the variations marked on and it sews up super quick with only 4 pieces, making it great for beginners and an ideal project for your homemade Christmas gift sewing (every year lots of MIY Workshop students do exactly that!).
The Parkwood Cowl is available as a printed paper pattern for £15….
….a pdf instant download pattern for £9…..
….and is also the first MIY Collection Kit!
The kit contains a printed Parkwood pattern, specially selected beautiful quality bouclé wool mix fabric in a choice of burgundy, grey or teal and matching colour thread. Even better it will be delivered to your door beautifully packaged in a sturdy gift box, all for just £55. Perfect if you want to get sewing straight away without worrying about fabric shopping, or the ideal gift for a beginner stitcher.
